(More customer reviews)The actual weights are as expected; however one of the top selling points for me was the storage case to enable portability & clean efficient storage.When the shipping box arrived it seemed too big for such a small item and did not properly secure the contents. With that said the internal black storage box for the weights was cracked & broken which doesn't close.Quite useless. Reading prior reviews stating the same issue it begs the question if the reviews and comments are taken in to consideration by the supplier.Obviously they need to either not ship damaged product OR package it better so it's not damaged during shipping.Difficult to determine the actual factor

Although this is a GOOD item- we purchased together to save $$ (it was more to purchase a barbell separate) As we got it together we learned it does NOT FIT on the bench set it was offered with. It should NOT have been put together as a "buy together to save". Beings we live in AK and shipping was horrendous as it was- we chose to just "make do" rather than ship back/reorder.

(More customer reviews)I purchased my Cap Barbell neoprene dumbbell 3#/5#/8# set from another online fitness store about 6 months ago. This set is a great starter set for toning and weight training at home.

These are good quality dumbbells (comparable to Troy brand) and are colored red, aqua and purple. Neoprene dumbbells are less damaging on flooring, don't smell bad, and (because of their hex shape) don't roll away. They are also easier to grip and more gentle on your hands (especially if you prefer to weight train without gloves).

I use these dumbbells almost daily and really like them.

(More customer reviews)I have to say. I know they're just weights, but I'm afraid I'm only able to give this product 2 starts.
When I opened the packaging and saw them, I did not get the feeling I was looking
at a new set of weights. The weight themselves look like they might have been painted, and the paint was coming off of them. I'm not sure if this is normal for steal weights. At any rate, I'm not giving 5 not even 4 stars to a product I bought "new" and just didn't look new. Oh!! Also, I almost forgot. They smell like gasoline or something one might smell at a car workshop. Then again, it might have been the paint. The only reason I didn't give them a lower rate of 1 star is because like I said before, I'm not sure if this is the norm for steal weights.

Anywho. I'll still get ripped with my smelly weights.

A wonderful investment; I thought I could get by with stacking my plates on the floor but I waste less time and effort now during my workout.

(More customer reviews)This is a nice, sturdy set of weights with good threading. Seems sort of cheesy to say as a set of weights had better be sturdy, but you can tell there is some build quality with these. The paint is heavy, looks to scratch instead of chip off which is good. The collar threads are nice and deep and the collars themselves are chunks of metal - they will never break and they fit nicely on the bars. You end up with 140lbs worth of plates, with the rest of the weight taken up by the bars. Sometimes the collars can get a little loose on the freeweights when doing hammer curls but you're going to see that on any collar based set.

All in all this is a nice base set. 160lbs for ~$100 you can't really go wrong.

(More customer reviews)This set is solidly built, and it has a quality feel.Rubber washers are provided for the collar and the bar (one on each side of the weight stack) so the weights stay relatively tight once you screw the collars on (unlike some other screw-on collar sets out there). The knurling on the bar is about right, not too rough, but provides a good grip. (I've used some bars in the past that are cheaply machined and really chew up your hands - not a problem with this set)I also use the 1" plates from this set on my Curl and Super Curl Bars - not much too report there, they work!Overall I am please with the quality and appearance of this set and would recommend it.
