(More customer reviews)As someone who owns the ORIGINAL workouts that this title is comprised of, I know that "The Firm Boot Camp 101" should probably be an awesome, effective and fun workout.I know this because The Firm's "Slim Without the Gym" and "Fat-Burning Sculpting Ball Workout" are both great workouts.This program basically takes the "Sculpting Ball" workout and interjects the jump-roping cardio section of "Slim W/o the Gym."In doing this, however, I personally don't think they improved anything.In fact, with the original "Sculpting Ball," you at least get to choose the weight of the ball (4 lbs., 6 lbs. or a monstrous 8 lbs.) With this program, you are given the 4 lb., which is fine for me, but may be too light for some. As far as the boredom argument goes, the original "Slim w/o..." uses THREE pieces of equipment: jump-rope, resistance cord and resistance loop. Again, in my opinion, the original wins. AND both original programs have both cardio and sculpting already...Your choice. But if you don't have either DVD, hey, being a huge fan of The Firm, I'm sure you will find "Boot Camp 101" fun and effective. If you DO have both workouts, however, don't fall for this marketing gimmick!

(More customer reviews)I am the most skeptical of skeptical people, especially when it comes to anything "as seen on TV"/infomercial products, and MOST especially work out systems.I work at a retail store and noticed this kit a few weeks ago.I decided I'd give it a try, as it sounded decent and the winter weather has put a nice road-block on my outdoor cardio . . . plus my employee discount always helps me try new things! :)I liked the idea of the weighted balls incorporated with cardio, as I am getting married in the fall and I need both cardio and muscle tone to look fab in my dress.

Getting more to the point, this workout kicked my butt!!I was absolutely shocked at how quickly I was drenched in sweat.Mind you, I am a 22 year old fairly fit individual who walks and jogs on a daily basis, plus I have been a dancer since I was 6 and I do yoga regularly.I'm not as toned as I would like to be (lack of motivation to do push ups and lunges . . .), hence buying the kit.I literally could barely walk the next day!I did the full workout, not the express routines, on my first go with the kit.Almost the entire DVD is some form of lunge or squats plus the weighted balls.My abs were sore, every possible muscle in my legs were sore, my arms were sore . . . it was miserable, but a good miserable!I couldn't work out the next day to the same DVD, so I did a low-key pilates DVD instead.I haven't been this sore in YEARS!

The only real downside I saw to the DVD is there is basically no instruction whatsoever.There were a few moves I had trouble wrapping my brain around--probably due to a combination of profuse sweating and extreme fatigue.However, I found that as a complete virgin to The Firm workouts I was able to follow along for the most part and it definitely got easier the second time around.Just don't get hung up on trying to do all of the moves perfectly the first few times with the workout.Often I would ignore the more complicated arm sequences while I concentrated on getting the foot work down.For new moves I usually marched in place and watched the girls do a cycle first to get the move down before attempting it myself and I found that extremely beneficial.

I am extremely pleased with this purchase, which means a lot coming from one of the cheapest people ever!I would recommend this product to anyone who wants an intense and effective workout.I will update and let you all know if I notice a difference in my strength and tone in a few more workouts.

But I love Tanja's videos, so I had to buy this one. I have to say, the workout is not as challenging as her other workouts, but still nothing can beat her upbeat style and the beautiful scenery the workout is filmed in.
There are different workouts on the dvd, lower body, upper body, cardio and abs, which can be done separately, all together or in any combination you chose from the menu.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this after wanting it for sometime now since seeing the infomerical.I understand some real hard core firm believers aren't all into this, but let me tell you I'm not an intermediate exerciser.I love this series.I started off with Cardio Party and burned some major calories according to my heart rate monitor.I found this to be very enjoyable and liked that I was introduced to several instructors during this workout.My next workout was Hi Def Sculpt using 8-10# hand weights (I already owned a complete set of weights)and found a great whole body workout that really got my heart pumping and was enjoyable to do.My next workut was cardio overdrive and that's one way to describe it.The instructor uses a series of moves and builds on them per section.You do some weight moves as well that keep you heart rate elevated throughout the workout.I found the moves easy to follow and was able to pick up on the routines rather quickly.The final is the hard core fusion and this one is the longest and my favorite.You get a great workout using handweight throughout with cardio bursts.Overall I give this series two thumbs up and even purchased some more firm workouts.I had been a firm believer back in the mid 90's and saw great results with the instructors at that time.However this is one of the Newer Firms I really enjoyed and found to be a great workout.I tend to do things that make me work up a great sweat and have not been a bit disappointed with this series.I also know I will be doing these workouts over and over again because they take the boredom out of doing the same thing since you have 4 workouts to chose from.I know someone mentioned the music wasn't great, however I've found it to be the right tempo for the moves that you are doing at the time and didn't see an issue.I am already seeing great results from this and know I have more to come.
